Project Description

The mission of Northwestern Publishing House (NPH) is to deliver Biblically sound Christ-centered resources within the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod and beyond.

In looking to replace its Avaya phone system, NPH wanted a high-valued solution that delivered on the following requirements:

  • Integrated with both Apple Mac and PC/Microsoft Windows computers and users
  • Established new VLANs to support proper data traffic segmentation within four existing data switches
  • Allowed voicemail to be passed as email to a 3rd party provider accessed through a content filter
  • Allowed 4-digit dialing across a 3-site MPLS wide area network and two additional Avaya phone systems
  • Allowed internal call center managers to modify automated call distribution (ACD), call queues, agents and messaging on an as-needed basis
  • Would be delivered by a local vendor who would provide detailed onsite training to all call center managers before and after installation to ensure managerial comfort with the system
  • Would complete all work within 30 days of contract execution so NPH personnel could return all Avaya phone equipment to their leasing agent on-time to avoid penalty charges

Not only did DVI’s solution deliver on all the customer requirements, but we also located several pieces of equipment NPH was not aware of as well as corrected several improperly cabled devices.

To help with the project installation and implementation, DVI was able to loan NPH a Layer 3 100-port chassis-based PoE data switch for 30 days. This allowed NPH to trace out and re-organize all patch cord cables within their main data closet during the day without end users being affected.
